Boreal Beast Honeyberry produces big berries with bold flavor!
The berries are firm, with a thick, oval shape. The bloom season of this cultivar is relatively late, matching the bloom season of Boreal Blizzard.
These elongated berries, also referred to as Haskaps, are sweet and tart, similar in flavor as blueberries. These fruits are high in antioxidants, as high or higher than blueberries! While âBoreal Beastâ isnât as pretty as âBoreal Beautyâ it has remarkable flavor â fresh or frozen.
Boreal Beast has excellent mildew resistance. This cold-hardy berry plant requires about 1,000-1,200 chill hours. Plant honeyberries in rich soil, with a pH between 5-7.
For this specimen to produce, itâll need a different honeyberry plant that blooms around the same time to pollinate it. Boreal Beast is a pollinator haskap cultivar designed to be planted with other âBorealâ cultivars.
Putting âBeautyâ and the âBeastâ together will result in a successful harvest for both!
